My field of work is psycholinguistics, a subarea of communication science at the interface between linguistics and psychology. In the field of psycholinguistics, digitisation is characterised by the progressive use of digital media and computer-based methods in research and teaching. In teaching, for example, we increasingly use internet-based kahoot tests, videos to illustrate teaching content, the internet learning platform Moodle for providing materials and interactive tasks, and interactive whiteboards. With the help of tests like Kahoot, I query the contents of a lecture. The quiz questions are presented with Kahoot via the beamer. Students participate with their mobile devices via the internet. The Kahoot software measures how correctly and quickly everyone answers and creates a ranking list and those with the fastest and correct answers win. In this way students can playfully test their knowledge. In the field of research, examples of digitisation in psycholinguistics are internet databases to contact subjects for studies, online studies, online forms, laboratory training videos, video recordings as stimuli for studies and the storage and analysis of data such as eye movements and brain wave potentials using computers. An example of training materials, my team has published in the video journal Jowi. A laboratory video shows the preparation of an experiment in the laboratory as well as videos, pictures and sentences that we present to the test persons. An accompanying protocol lists the individual steps of the experiment in detail. We use these materials in research and research-related teaching.
